Jets Could've Won Last Years Super Bowl?

I Apologize,

Hello everybody1 I would like to say sorry for the week that there were no new posts on the best Jets blog on the internet. Google took ads off my site so I decided to fly to Mexico. Great decision right! Anyways I will give you all a little update on my thoughts before we get into the meat of the situation.

1. Draft Baker with the first Jet pick. That won't change
2. Don't talk to me about the Panthers at the moment.
3. I was a bit hard on Skrine. He had a good game against the panthers. But stop with the damn penalties
4. You too Mike Pennel
5. I know I said I didn't want the panthers to come up but THAT WAS A TOUCHDOWN! ASJ had that. He is playing very well and should have had at least two more touchdowns this season

OKAY NOW

I have to applaud the other New York team for making the Jets look actually good. If you compare them I mean. Eli will always be a great but he is not his brother. He needs to retire now. But as a Jets fan I would like to thank him for stealing two superbowls away from the patriots.

But the Giants (just like the Jets) know the future is coming. And they are preparing by teaching the future of the Giants. Looking for the savior of the season!

Geno! It is Geno time in NY again! Finally. Just look at the intensity on this man's face.

Honestly, I do like Geno. I think that he was not bad in the green and white. When he played last (maybe last year, before he got hurt. Not when he was punched) I think he did actually really well. It was last year! Fitz got benched and they put in Geno and he threw a touchdown! He had the offense actually flowing last year which would have been one of the only times all season. He started last year too didn't he? Then hurt right when they were doing well. Of course.

You can't mention Geno in a Jets uniform without talking about the punch. When he broke his jaw because IK Enemkpali decided to be a huge douche. Like the biggest. Who knows what would've happened if Geno didn't get punched? I hope this isn't a breach on anything but lets play a bit of

N-if-L

Okay. So Geno was slotted to be the starting quarterback for the New York Jets entering the 2015-16 season. On August 11 a man with an incredibly hard to pronounce last name, who was also an NFL player mind you, decided to punch Geno in the face. Broke his jaw. What a Jets thing to do right? Anyways if that didn't happen then how would the Jets have done? Well given his chemistry with Brandon Marshall and that Eric Decker didn't suck then, I would say that Geno Smith would right now be the Jets all time leader in single season touchdowns. I also think that the last game of the season, with Geno at the helm, the Jets would have won that game and PLAYOFFS BABY! Then the Jets would not have drafted Hackenberg and instead reached for Braxton Miller! That's right the WR QB combo that would have killed 2 needs in 1. Hackenberg would end up getting picked by the Texans in the 4th round.

Now lets head to the 2016-17 season. Where Fitzpatrick was supposed to carry on his record year and not suck. But with Geno doing so well, he will be the starting QB! But in Jets fashion, the savior of the season would get hurt in week 3 after leading the Jets to a 2-0 start by falling into the pit of despair that was dug in the remembrance of the butt fumble (happy late anniversary!)

So, now Fitzpatrick comes in and Fitz magic happens just one year later! The Jets go 12-4 and face the Patriots in the AFC championship game! Tom Brady is running out to the tunnel when he is hit with a bad case of the stomach flu because his kale salad was unwashed. The Jets face off against the Falcons where, lets be honest, they will blow another 28-3 lead. The Jets win the Super Bowl when Fitz throws a fade to the back of the end zone to Brandon Marshall (remember him?) an win with 2 seconds left. The Jets fans have something to cheer about finally. Then the apocalypse will happen and we shall die happy!

But thats never what would happen, is it? Truth is I think that until the Jets draft Baker, we will not have a QB.

Y'all I appreciate the support. It means a lot. Comment your thoughts. Join our Facebook group! Read  the other posts! Don't forget to Hail Namath and have a great day.

The Monday After

What A Weekend!

What can I say? It was fun! Sorry about the weekend hiatus on the post, I am sure all of you missed my writing. Mondays are always like I have a terrible football hangover. I guess that Monday Night Football is supposed to be a bloody mary to the long weekend of binge drinking touchdowns and end zone celebrations. But there was one problem with an amazing weekend that I couldn't shake.

NO JETS FOOTBALL

And you know what, that is okay. I needed a break after the Buccaneer game. I think this weekend can be broken down into 3 B's.

BAKER:
I would like to continue my trend of gushing over this guy. He is an athlete among men. I love that competitiveness. In my mind, there is no need to apologize for that. I may be a part of the minority on this subject, but I would rather have a guy leave everything on the field and compete like he did than a guy who does not win and is less consistent. I have to do a full article on Baker here soon, especially if he keeps playing the way he does. I like the crotch grab to the bird combo. I laughed my ass off with the "Go cheer on Basketball" moment. Tim Tebow in the video above makes an excellent point and reiterates what I have been saying for the entire college football season. Good news with baker is that some NFL teams may be turned off by his attitude. That means he may slip a bit in he draft. But the man is a winner, plain and simple. I love it. He needs to be a Jet

BILLS:

Well, I thought that was going to go differently. There had to be some reason other than performance that they benched Tyrod. He must have scraped the owners car or pissed in Sean McDermotts cornflakes. Nathan Peterman is a rookie, not just a rookie but a 5th rounder. I liked him at Pitt, but I don't think he is going to be that great. Ryan Fitzpatrick is his ceiling in my opinion. This also looks like the Bills are going to get rid of Tyrod, which gives them a much better chance of losing next year! Any time the Bills lose, I am happy. More than happy I am ecstatic. Nathan Peterman is not ready yet.  Now, I will give credit where it's due. The Chargers are playing much better than the first half of the season. Their defense looks incredible. I think they are missing a few key pieces. And hey, if they get rid of Philip Rivers, the Jets can always sign him next year!

BACKS, The Quarter Kind:

If you don't get it, that means the guy who throws the ball. My self proclaimed expertise is in Quarterbacks. I was one, I know a lot of college and pro players and coaches. Now, I also thought Hackenberg was a legend, an that the Jets got a huge steal in the second round. But with the Jets sending a lot of representatives to the USC v. UCLA game this weekend, I thought I would give my take on the two most hyped quarterbacks in the draft.

Sam Darnold,
I am not as enamored with him as a lot of people are. I think his mechanics need a lot of work. I think that he has great game leadership quality. His biggest problem is that his arm talent gets lost, and he needs a superstar receiver to help him show it. USC has good receivers this year, but there's no Ju Ju on that team anymore. I honestly think that he is best suited for the Bills. Not the Jets. Would I be mad with this pick? I don't think so, but I know that he would take a while to truly win and be comfortable in a big time market.

Josh Rosen,
I was extremely impressed with a lot about Josh Rosen's game this weekend. One thing is for sure, he throws a very pretty ball. It's tight, it is precise, it is what a ball is supposed to look like. But I have one HUGE problem when I watched Josh Rosen. Take a look at the game film in the video above. At the 50 second mark he runs a play action and throws a beautiful ball downfield. Aside from not selling the run, he never takes his eyes off his main target. It's what happened when he threw that interception at the end. The defensive back FINALLY realized how easy Rosen is to read. I do like Rosen much more than Darold, however. He has a NFL mindset. The thing is, he knows that he is good. Where I don't think that as a problem, I see how that can be detrimental.

So there it is! The 3 B's of the weekend! I am mainly waiting for the Jets to play next Sunday against a beatable Carolina team. I think the one take away that everyone should take away from this is.....
THE JETS NEED BAKER MAYFIELD!

Thoughts on Free Agency + 2018 RB Rankings

It's The Bye Week!

Which means that I cannot talk about the play of the team. I think that after that Bucs game, we could all use a little bit of a break. So, lets look to the future.

SO... We all seem to know that the Jets aren't going to the playoffs this year. It sucks, I know. Let us take into account however that most "experts" thought the Jets were a lock to go 0-16. There was hope after the draft (which is looking like Maccagnan's best), but with no long-term QB option, everyone thought it was going to be a New York plane crash (anyone?).  Well, it's looking like Josh McCown became our Captain Sully and led us to relative safety. Personally, I think Bowles owes him his job. But he was a late free agent get. And the Jets this free agency? Totally bananas!

We released Darrelle Revis, Brandon Marshall, Nick Mangold, Nick Folk, Breno Giacomini, Marcus Gilchrist, and Eric Decker. We also traded Calvin Pryor and Sheldon Richardson. From an organizational standpoint, we fired a whole gaggle of people. Here's a link to all of the 2017 team transactions

But we also got a lot of good players that have helped to change the locker room and the trajectory of the franchise. We have already touched on McCown, but Morris Claiborne and Kelvin Beachum are solid. The draft brought in a lot of high character people as well as great contributors on the field. This year has been a pleasant surprise! But there are still some people who I think we should get rid of and people I think we should bring back.

Who We Should Get Rid Of:

Matt Forte, RB: Look, I love Matt Forte. Did you ever play him on Madden 11? This guy was a BEAST. But he is seeming a bit slow now. And people who complain about the offense is not what the Jets locker room is needing. He is a great guy and was an awesome pickup 2 years ago. But Bilal Powell is too good to sit on the bench anymore, and I think that this RB class is surprisingly deep. No need to keep a running back who is over 30.

Chandler Catanzaro, K: Kickers are going to be kickers. They're gonna miss. Plus, if you don't get a Vinateri or a Gostowski, it's almost constant turnover. Also, DRAFT A KICKER THIS YEAR.

Wesley Johnson, C: We need a new O-Line. Wesley Johnson has been okay, but getting a new, fresh O-line is what we need to be where we want to be in 2-3 years. Not only that, but a lot of mock drafts have the Jets able to get the best center in the draft with their early second round pick. Nobody can be Mangold, but it's our best shot to find the next great center through the draft.

Who We Should Keep:

Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE: I don't think that I am alone on this. The guy not only is insanely athletic and was once considered to be the best TE in the country, but listen to how he talks about the Jets. He absolutely loves being here and a part of this team. Plus he is a great TE option and quickly becoming a great number 1 option. Keep this guy.

Kony Ealy, DE: The guy balls out. Plain and simple. The pressure he has put on opposing offenses has allowed the rest of the D-line to do their thing, if only they would. But he is due for a large paycheck. If the Jets can get him for the appropriate value, I think he is a must keep.

Morris Claiborne, CB: We took a shot on an injury prone CB with a lot of potential. It has turned out to be an AMAZING pick up. Our defensive backs were the one of the weakest parts of our team last season. Along with the rookie safeties, Claiborne has brought physicality, defensive prowess, and a strong wining mentality. He deserves to stay.

Josh McCown, QB: I think that the journey man has finally found his home. He deserves to spend the last few years of his career here. He is smart, he works through his progressions, and is a great leader. Even if he is a backup, he is a great player coach and will be a leader for the rest of his career.

So those are the players I think should be in flux that are on the Jets roster right now. The roster is getting there, but there are still a few pieces that can be moved. Now, what you are waiting for, my 2018 RB rankings!!!!!

1. Saquon Barkley, Penn State
2. Damien Harris, Alabama
3. Akrum Wadley, Iowa
t-4. Nick Chubb, Georgia
t.4. Ronald Jones, USC
6. Bryce Love, Stanford
7. Josh Adams, Notre Dame
t-8. Rashaad Penny, SDSU
t-8. Martel Carter, Grambling State
10. Sony Michel, Georgia

The Wyoming Kid

It's Like The Jets Don't Even Read My Posts

Most likely because why the hell would they? I am no expert, but being a fan for so long, I know that it's the fan's who know about how to run the organization!

Just kidding! But there a lot of spirited debates on our Facebook page (shameless plug). Feel free to join and share with all of the Jet's fans in your life! Never forget to #HailNamath while you're at it!

Okay so even how I just posted about the kid and only true star ⭐Baker Mayfield🌟 the Jets organization decided to give the best blog about their organization a huge middle finger (that's for dramatic effect). The Jets are apparently enamored with my 6th overall QB in my rankings (link here) , Josh Allen. This was first reported by trusted analyst and my presidential vote, Matt Miller.

Josh Allen. I can't say that I know too much about him. I know that he has nowhere close to the New York jawline the Hackenberg has, so that is a plus. In my mind he is second to third round. Not only because of his play and my live analysis of him when I saw his game vs. Iowa (one of the only teams he has faced with multiple NFL level defensive players on it), but also because he is nursing an injury to his throwing shoulder.

Look, I will say it a thousand times over. DRAFT BAKER MAYFIELD. He is a game changer. We need game changers. Hopefully, Orlando Brown, the Oklahoma OT who has been blocking for Mayfield, will come to us with our first pick and we can get Baker late first with a trade up including our 2 second round picks and maybe a 5th.

But please, watch Josh Allen when he plays next. Notice his fundamentals. His footwork on his 3 and 5 step. He looks very uneasy going through his progression past his number 2 guy. My biggest problem? He is judged as inaccurate. Does that remind you of anyone? Take a look at the draft profile of the last quarterback the Jets drafted brought to you by NFL.com:

Debilitating accuracy issues with atrocious 51.5 percent adjusted completion total (throws beyond line of scrimmage). Turns receivers into goalies. Even simple throws can be coin-flippers in accuracy department. Release point can vary greatly and he is still looking for repeatable footwork, mechanics and release. Will throw a spiral followed by wobbler. Ball patting and wind-up slows release and can obstruct timing. Extra air under deep balls combined with marginal timing allows safeties time to race into the play. Busted internal clock. Allows pressure to overtake him rather than getting catchable throw out a shade early

Josh Allen is not Hack. But drafting another quarterback with accuracy problems is not the option. I know Baker is not always perfect, but he is a better game winner than Josh Allen.

Guys, thank you so much! Whether you're coming from a hardcore Jets lifestyle or a busy day at the office, I hope I can give you a nice bit of relaxation. Join our Facebook page! It is where I will be posting updates on posts. Feel free to share this with everyone you know. Also, drop a follow! It takes 5 seconds and helps me a lot. All Hail Jeremy Bates!

Look, I know that the Jets current quarterback situation gets a lot of hate. The fans are sad, and tired, and overall just absolutely done. We need a quarterback. Mike Maccagnan likes to pretend that Petty and Hack just need time and the organization still has faith in them. And that is all well and good, until you hear something like this.

New York Jets quarterback coach and resident bad boy Jeremy Bates was asked by the press why second year quarterback Christian Hackenberg was not playing, even after the loss to the Buccaneers in which the Jets seemingly lost the will to play football. His answer was ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING. When given the chance to talk about Hackenberg he said "Of course, we'll have that conversation at the end of the season. As an organization, this is professional football. This isn't Triple-A"

WOWOWOWOWOWOW. OH MY! Paint me pink and tie me upside down in the Jersey Turnpike with silly string and neon duct tape cause things are going bananas on 1 Jets Drive! This man looks like the uncle at the family reunion who may or may not have gone to prison. Probably for murder. Maybe not but the meaning is that he is one tough looking guy. Looks at this face.

The truth will set you free! The organization has lost faith and we are going to move on! Oh happy days! Mr. Bates, if you are reading this, I would like to give you an open offer to my dinner table. We here at the Everything blog value who you are.

Truthfully, the Jets have almost always struggled with quarterback play. I can count all of the Jets good QB's on one hand. Vinny Testaverde, Chad Pennington, Ken O'Brien, and of course Broadway Joe #HailNamath. I am glad to see that someone internally is saying what we think. Click on the link here to read the full story.

Jets fans, thank you for spending a little time with me. I love writing about what I think. Comment down below what you think the Jets are gonna do with their quarterback situation and what you think about Jeremy Bates being a true savage. Thanks so much for reading and make sure to follow for more updates!

All I Can Do Is Speculate + QB rankings

Hello Jet's fans!

And anyone else who shall read this blog. I know that everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday! I hope that nobody forgot to #HailNamath in the time between my posts.

So here's the deal. With the Jets, everyone talks about one thing. Well two actually, if you include the butt fumble. The situation at quarterback. Ah yes, the ever lasting debate on who the savior of the franchise is. Before the season lot of people thought it was Sam Darnold. But with his inconsistency and his overall lack of ability to look like the number 1 guy, a lot of people are questioning the quarterback class. Josh Rosen has underwhelmed, Josh Allen from Wyoming seems to have been forgotten, and Lamar Jackson is the least hyped Heisman winning quarterback I have seen since Denard Robinson (whose last headline was about his inability to stay awake in his car here espn.com/denard)

I honestly think that the only true star quarterback of this draft class is a guy who at the beginning of the season I thought the jets could get in the third round but has now started to shoot up draft boards.

Ladies and gentleman, the kid. My best quarterback in the 2018 NFL draft, Baker Mayfield.

This man is a football player. That's the first part about him that I see. He loves football. I think that is what the jets have missed in a draftable QB. You can tell when you see him on the field. There is something about him that just oozes gridiron. Not only does he like football, he likes winning. A LOT Next time Oklahoma is playing watch how he wills his way into positive plays. How he uses his skill and wizardry to make things happen. I really think that he will be special.

All that said, I see a comparison here that leaves a lot to be desired. He's a poor mans Russel Wilson, and a rich mans Jeremiah Masoli. Now who is that? Well, I will tell you eager beavers. he is a quarterback in the Canadian Football League, but he used to be a QB for the University of Oregon Ducks, when they were the next greatest show on turf. I will say that I am biased when it comes to Chip Kelly-era Duck football, but this kid was special. He looked a lot like Baker. The only difference is that Baker had is off-field issues early in his career, Masoli had them at the end. Even though I think he is the best QB in the draft, the type of player Baker Mayfield is may not last him very long in the NFL. If this year has proven anything, it's that the Jets want to win now. I knew they wouldn't be 0-16, but the way the locker room has shifted is headed for a cinderella Super Bowl run in 2 to 3 years. Realistically maybe 5, but a boy can dream!

If the Jets get Kirk Cousins this offseason, my life will be complete. It really would be. Talk about a winner, this guy needs to win to stay hungry. Everyone remembers the "You Like That?" moment. I think that if the Jets aren't too high on any quarterbacks, looking at Kirk Cousins, like a lot of teams will be, is the best option for getting the Jets to the playoffs next year. But Baker Mayfield will be special, and hopefully the Jets can get him. They have 2 second round picks which could easily be traded up for a late first rounder in my opinion. If the Jets are high on somebody, they have the resources to go for him.

My official QB rankings for the 2018 NFL Draft are as follow (November 15, 2017)
1. Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma
2. Lamar Jackson, Louisville
3. Sam Darnold, USC
t-4. Josh Rosen, UCLA
t-4. Mason Rudolph, Oklahoma State
6. Josh Allen, Wyoming
7. Clayton Thorson, Northwestern
8. Luke Falk, Washington State
9. Riley Ferguson, Memphis
